Christmas Records Trust (CRT) Grant

Special Olympics Bangladesh is working for the overall development of the intellectually disabled people including increasing their physical and mental abilities. Special Olympics International will grant Bangladesh a Christmas Records Trust (CRT) Grant in 2024. Through this donation, Special Olympics Bangladesh will expand the range of the organization’s digital activities, including training of players with intellectual disabilities in various sports, unified sports training and competitions. In addition, Special Olympics activities will be expanded in the district by opening Special Olympics Bangladesh sub-chapters in the districts including coaches training, athlete leader training, family and volunteer training activities.

Under this project, from September 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024, Special Olympics Bangladesh (SOBD) will conduct various activities including sports training to improve the quality of life of intellectually disabled people in 16 districts of Bangladesh.The CRT Grant aims to make a significant positive impact on communities by providing essential support to organizations and initiatives that drive meaningful change. Successful projects often result in improved services, increased access to resources, and stronger community bonds during the holiday season Through this donation, Special Olympics Bangladesh is working to achieve the following objectives:

  1. Providing basic level sports training and talent hunt program to 2400 new intellectually disabled athletes.
  2. Organizing training for the quality improvement of 200 local trainers/ coaches.
  3. Organizing basic level sports training and unified sports competition for 100 athletes and unified partners. 
  4. Expanding the activities of Special Olympics Bangladesh by opening Special Olympics Bangladesh sub-chapter in 02 districts.
  5. Providing leadership training to 100 Athlete Leaders/Youth Leaders.
